Yellow Gum Park is a peaceful haven with stunning views, native bushland, and the serene Blue Lake. Trails are well-marked, and recent upgrades to the Upper Car Park make access smoother and safer. Ideal for quiet walks, birdwatching, or picnics with a view. The mix of cliffs, water, and wildlife creates a calming escape close to suburbia. Whether you're seeking solitude or a scenic spot to share, this park delivers natural beauty and emotional resonance in every visit.
We did the 4.7km loop trail and found it to be an easy to medium-level walk—great for a relaxed outing. The track is well-maintained, so no need to go off-road, and it’s suitable for walkers of most fitness levels. There’s also a designated path for bikers, which is a nice bonus. A few smaller loops branch off with lovely views of the lake. Peaceful setting, and we didn’t spot any snakes. A pleasant and accessible nature walk!
Great little hike with what would be an awesome swimming hole. It was closed for swimming due to algae when we were there, but really enjoyed the walk. We took out 5 & 7 yo as well as my 70 yo MIL. It took a few stops to get back to the car because the walk is steep but definitely doable. We’ll be back to swim in the summer. Would be good to have some amenity (bbqs, chairs, toilet) down near the swimming hole given.
